Every so often, Chevrolet gets it exactly right, not by building the fastest Corvette or the most extreme one, but by creating the version that feels just right.
Word around the Corvette world is that the Grand Sport is poised for a comeback, and if it does, it may become the most desirable Corvette in the lineup. The idea is simple: take the everyday usability of the Stingray, add the wider stance and visual drama Corvette fans love, and power it with a naturally aspirated V8 that delivers thrilling performance without the intensity or price of the top-tier models.
This rumored Grand Sport wouldn’t be about lap records or bragging rights. It would be about balance. Big presence without intimidation. Performance you can enjoy on real roads. A Corvette that feels special every time you open the garage, not just when you’re chasing tenths on a racetrack.
If history is any guide, the Grand Sport has always lived in that perfect middle ground—where muscle meets finesse and everyday drivability meets serious performance. If Chevrolet brings it back the way enthusiasts hope, this could be the Corvette many have been waiting for all along.
Sometimes the best Corvettes aren’t the loudest ones.
They’re the ones you want to drive the most!

Is a Corvette a Muscle Car?

Alan P. Owner Of This L71 427/435!
At the mere suggestion, some will bristle and insist a Corvette is a sports car, after all, it only has two seats. And with a mild small-block and highway gears, that argument holds up. But some Corvettes blur the line.
Think of this 1967 Corvette Coupe as a muscle car wearing a sports-car suit. Beneath its refined Goodwood Green exterior and factory tinted glass lies something far more savage. Turn the key and the mighty 427 announces its presence with an unapologetic bellow, settling into a restless idle that hints at what’s to come. Yet it will still pull cleanly from low RPMs, proving brute force and finesse can coexist.
This car is once again complete with its matching-numbers big-block, but it wasn’t always that way. A previous owner wanted to drive it daily and found the factory big-block and steep gearing impractical, so he sold the original 427 to a man building a Vega drag car, installed a smaller engine, and racked up thousands of miles enjoying the Corvette as intended.
Years later, as big-block values soared, curiosity turned into hope. The owner tracked down the Vega, only to discover the drag car was never finished. The tri-power 427 had been sitting untouched in a garage for years, waiting. Reuniting it with the Corvette didn’t take long.
So, is a Corvette a muscle car?
Sometimes.
And sometimes, it’s something even better.
