If this latest rumor proves true, then we’ll be seeing the next-gen Z06 have its official debut at Detroit in January.
There will never be a shortage of Corvette-related rumors in this world, and while some are a bit more farfetched that others, this latest one regarding the next-generation Z06 could very well end up being true. Jalopnik just reported that a reliable source told them while attending the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) at Lime Rock Park that Chevrolet will unveil both the Z06 and the C7.R race car at an upcoming car show. More than likely, this will end up being Detroit in January.
Now, GM hasn’t confirmed any of this but the timing for the Z06’s potential reveal date sounds right; it’ll be exactly one year since the C7 Corvette Stingray was unveiled. Speculation has also been in full gear for some time regarding the next Z06’s output. Considering the new Stingray spits out 455 horsepower and the outgoing Z06 is good for just over 500 hp, don’t be surprised in the least to see the new Z06 hit 600 ponies.
