ne person was injured after a car crashed into a Northeast Heights business in Albuquerque on Monday.
Police said an elderly woman drove her white Chevrolet Corvette into the Great Harvest Bread Company on Montgomery Boulevard and Juan Tabo Boulevard NE in the El Dorado Square Shopping Center.
The woman said she meant to put the car in park, but hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes.
Five employees and one customer were inside the store at the time of the accident. The customer was the only one hurt. He is expected to be OK.
KOB Eyewitness News 4 spoke with the owner of the car after the incident.
“I was trying to park slowly, I must have been pushing the gas pedal instead of the brake,” she explained. “I don’t know, all of a sudden I see my car getting in the store.”
Police said the driver will not be cited because the incident was on private property.
The owner said the store will be open on Tuesday.
