Our team continues to meet and discuss how we are going to move ahead with the COVID-19 outbreak. Per California law, we have decided to remain open for business to serve our valued customers.

2021 C8 brings minor option changes

2021 c8 r

When the factory gets going again, and can finish the 2020 C8 orders, there will be some minor option changes for people ordering the 2021 C8.

The biggest change is that you can get the Magnetic Ride Control suspension system as a standalone option, separate from the Z51 Performance Package. The Magnetic Ride Control suspension system allows the driver to pick the level of comfort/handling they desire for the road or track they are driving on.

Other, less significant changes coming for 2021 are Wireless Apple CarPlay will be standard on all trim levels, Blade Silver Metallic and Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat are gone, but Silver Flare and Red Mist Tintcoat will be added to the color options, a new package called “Stingray R” will add unique graphics and wheel center caps, several new stripe options will be added, and on the 3LT there are two new interior options: Strike Yellow suede with Sky Cool Gray seats and Jet Black leather with Sky Cool Gray seats.

These are the only announced changes, and there could be others that Chevy has not released yet.

Patrick Collins

It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Patrick Collins this week. Pat was a good friend of Corvette Mike, a Marine Veteran, and a long time member and past director or the NCRS National and Southern CA Chapter for over 37 years.  He also served as Chairman and Judging Chairman. Pat lost his dear wife Kay and recently moved to Colorado. He will be missed dearly and his memories cherished.

1963 Split window coupe

1963 300hp swc externial

What Mike likes about this Corvette:
“This 1963 Corvette split window is very dazzling in its current state of silver with red interior. However, this car was found in the Sacramento area owned by a family of Japanese farmers as the story goes. The hot summers in Sacramento faded the original black paint that was sprayed at the factory when the car was new. It was at some point in time the owner decided to paint it silver to attract less heat. So the immortal 1963 split window and its original color combination of black exterior with red interior is deemed to be one of the most sought after 1963 Corvettes ever produced.”

1963 300hp swc interior

This beautiful SWC was recently inspected by Jack Murray, and really liked it.

This very original, Split Window Coupe was purchased new by a farmer in California’s Central Valley in Black exterior and Red interior. He drove the car regularly, but after a while realized that choosing Black as an exterior color wasn’t the wisest decision to deal with the blazing hot Valley summers! So, it was decided that a color change to Sebring Silver was in order.

1963 silver 300 swc engine

The matching #’s 327/300hp engine runs beautifully with excellent power and response and the 4-spd. transmission shifts smoothly. Many owners have chosen to go the frame-off restoration route, however, this SWC has been able to remain untouched, except for the color change and new seat covers (the originals come with the car).
