Chevrolet’s 2026 Corvette ZR1 just delivered an eye-catching performance at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), proving its supercar-caliber chops. A stock ZR1 equipped with the ZTK Performance Package posted a 2:13.80 lap time, coming within roughly 2.3 seconds of the $2 million Czinger 21C’s production car record (2:10.70), an exceptional feat given the Vette’s factory setup and challenging track conditions.
What makes this run especially impressive is how it stacks up against established supercars. The ZR1 comfortably beat the McLaren P1’s COTA time (2:17.51) by more than four seconds, showcasing its raw speed and handling without costly tuning or modifications.
Powered by a 1,064-horsepower twin-turbo V8, the ZR1 delivers world-class performance at a fraction of the cost of hypercars, helping solidify its place among elite track-ready machines straight from the factory.
Though it didn’t take the record outright, this effort proves the Corvette ZR1 isn’t just fast, it belongs in conversations with the world’s most capable performance cars.
And the excitement may not stop there, it will be especially interesting to see what happens when the upcoming ZR1X takes on the track. If the ZR1 is any indication, the next chapter could raise the bar even higher.
