The ZR-1 was and is considered one of the high water marks in Corvette engineering and development. The car set a multitude of records on the track and on the street. Some of which still stand today! With its Twin-Cam V-8, it was truly an “exotic” Corvette in every sense of the word!. Even after being out of production for 15 years, the car is still advanced and a real “E” ticket ride for those of us brave enough to put it through its paces. During the cars production from ’90-’95, a certain amount of tweaking was done to the engine. The biggest change came in ’93 when the hp was increased from a very healthy 375 up to 405 with a stouter 4-bolt main block and some subtle, but effective hot rod tricks. And although the LT-1 engine that sat in the ’93-’95 ZR-1’s were virtually identical, there were some upgrades to the interior, by way of wider and stronger seats and the introduction of a passenger airbag. Both of these items arrived in the ’94 model run and stayed through the ‘95’s.
This ’91 came to us from the son of the original owner. A local L.A. woman who knew and appreciated high performance cars; especially Corvettes! It’s been well cared for over its 48k miles and still looks runs and drives like the champ it is! Equipped with both tops (which was the only factory option available), performance chip and chrome ZR-1 wheels with brand new Goodyear F1’s.
