“Drove my Chevy to the levy..but the levy was dry”
On Sunday, August 12, Due to popular demand, the Midwest’s favorite a cappella doo wop vocal quintet Harbor Lights will once again fill the Valparaiso Expo Center with the nostalgic sounds of early Rock n’ Roll. The Event will be the big annual Midwest Corvette and Chevy Show.
Surrounded by hundreds of beautiful classic Chevys, the unique street corner vocal stylings of Cheryl De Rosier, George Carl, Dave Mitchell, Jim Calinski, and Fernando Rodriguez will take you on a journey back to a simpler time of drive in movies, poodle skirts and American Bandstand.
Admission tickets for the entire event are $10. This includes the Harbor Lights Sunday performance at the big Doo Wop Party which is sponsored by The Times and nwi.com. The party will begin in the Wheel House at noon and continue up until 3:30 at which time a beautiful classic Corvette will be presented to the lucky person holding the winning ticket. Admission tickets are numbered and will be your chance to win the Corvette. Gino Burelli of Harbor Motors and Cool Productions will announce the winner. The winner must be at least 18 years of age and present at the time of the drawing.
The doo wop party will also be a summer album release event for Harbor Lights’ recently released new album “No Strings Attached”. It is the group’s fourth album on the Collectables label out of Philadelphia. Harbor Lights’ manager George Carl replied “We are proud of all four albums, but we strongly feel that No Strings Attached is our best work. It’s only been out for a few weeks and it is already creating a lot of excitement in the market place”.
Additionally, the doo wop party will include fun audience participation activities. Winning participants can win prizes with dance, Hula Hoop and nostalgic trivia contests.
All in all it will be a fantastic fun filled day of beautiful old classic cars wonderful music and great food.
