General Motors has named a new vice president for global quality and U.S. customer experience, to replace its retiring vice president of global quality activities.

Effective June 1, Alicia Boler-Davis will assume responsibility for GM’s global quality activities from Terry Woychowski, who is retiring as vice president of global quality activities, after a 32-year career with the company.

“Vehicle quality is the cornerstone of the overall customer experience,” said senior vice president of global product development Mary Barra.

“Alicia’s diverse experiences give her tremendous perspective on the customers’ view of what quality means to them, and how to enhance the quality of our cars and trucks throughout the vehicle development process,” Barra added.

Boler-Davis will report to Barra for the quality responsibilities and to GM North America president Mark Reuss for the customer experience responsibilities.

Prior to being named U.S. vice president of customer experience in February, Boler-Davis had been plant manager of the Orion Assembly and Pontiac Stamping plants in Michigan.

She began her career with GM in 1994 and has served in various engineering and manufacturing leadership positions, including vehicle line director/vehicle chief engineer, small car; and plant manager for Lansing’s Consolidated Operations and Arlington Assembly.

The retiring Woychowski has been vice president for global quality and vehicle launches since 2011, after serving as vice president of global vehicle program management since 2009 and chief engineer for GM’s line of full-size pickups and sport-utility vehicles from 1997 to 2009.
