Driving your Corvette to work, at least one day a year, is an excellent way to demonstrate just how popular Corvettes are.
When you work for Corvette Online, every day is “Drive your Corvette to Work Day” (or at least it should be – as you can see from the photo above, shot just a little while ago, we all got the memo this morning…) But for the rest of the world, June 29th will be the official day to fire up the Y-body and use it to make your commute a little more awesome.
Promoted by Mid America Motorworks, mail-order purveyors of all things Corvette, DYCTWD was launched in 2001 and is a way to promote the love of America’s Sports Car by actually getting out and enjoying yours in an everyday setting, instead of keeping it garaged and only bringing it out on special occasions.
“We understand why many owners consider their Corvette to be a special car and only drive it occasionally,” said Mike Yager, founder and “Chief Cheerleader” of Mid America Motorworks. “But we think driving your Corvette to work, at least one day a year, is an excellent way to demonstrate just how popular Corvettes are. And it is a chance for Corvette owners to meet new Corvette owners.”
