Annual show joins downtown event this year due to renovations

What would the Langley Good Times Cruise-In be without a showing of one of the most beloved sports cars of over six decades?
Thanks to the large-scale renovations at Preston GM on the Langley Bypass, the BC Corvette Club has moved its annual June show from the car dealer to the Sept. 8 Cruise-In and will be found in the west end of the Cascades Casino parking lot.
“We’re probably into about eight or nine years [of doing the June show at Prestons],” said Nigel Wheway, pres-ident of the BC Corvette Club. “We’ll absolutely be,” back to having the well-attended show at Preston’s next year, he added.
Corvettes have been a head turner since they were launched in the 1950s and more than 25 ‘vettes are registered to take part in the show this year. The number is expected to grow by Sept. 8.
“There should be a lot more Corvette owners there [than the 25],” Wheway noted. “We’re hoping to get all the Corvettes parked in the one location.”
