GRAND-AM: Westbrook Quickest In Practice 3 In Monterey

Richard Westbrook led the way in the final 30-minute practice before qualifying for tomorrow’s Continental Tire Sports Car Festival and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

The Englishman peddled his No. 90 Corvette DP to a best time of 1:1.687, which was a considerable 0.520 seconds quicker than Friday’s pace-setting GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Corvette of Jon Fogarty and Alex Gurney, who wound up second in the session.

The No. 9 Action Express Racing entry of Darren Law and Joao Barbosa made it a Corvette 1-2-3 sweep, with Ozz Negri the quickest of the rest in fourth aboard his Michael Shank Racing Riley-Ford.

GT saw Team Sahlen’s Dan Cameron top the charts, thanks to a 1:28.007 lap time set in his Mazda RX-8.

The No. 69 AIM Autosport Team FXDD Ferrari was second, followed by an impressive effort put in by Dion von Moltke, who wound up third in his APR Motorsport Audi R8 GRAND-AM.

Qualifying gets underway at 2:25 p.m. ET.
